Congratulations to Science Fair Participants!!!!! From "Boone Bear Facts": Boone students from kindergarten through fifth grade participated in Science Fair 2013. Participation in this year’s science fair was optional, and the students who completed projects showed a genuine interest in the sciences. Every student was interviewed by at least two outside judges; the judges really enjoyed hearing about their projects. We congratulate the students for their accomplishments, and we thank them for their participation. We would also like to thank their families for helping with the projects. Nine of our students, grades 3-5, are now eligible to attend the Austin Energy Regional Science Fair in February and they are listed below. We would like to thank Boone PTA for their support for Science Fair.
Regional Participants: Kaylee Bohm, Trey Cady, Quintin Dionne, Ezra Esquivel, Quentin Foley, Madison Joseph, Lucas Martinez, Claire O'Brien and Mario Suarez-Renaud.

Experiment
Experiment

An experiment follows the steps of the Scientific Method and clearly asks a question. The student conducts an operation or set of tests carried out under controlled conditions in order to discover an unknown effect or to test a hypothesis. The idea being tested must be relatively original. A journal or logbook should accompany the experiment.
Model / Demonstration
Model / Demonstration

A Demonstration or Model shows how something works. The student takes known facts and known results to show how a process, device or procedure works, and writes about their research on the topic in a report. Frequently, ideas from books will result in a demonstration because the student already knows the results.

Collection (PK - 2 Only)

A Collection (Pre-K - 2nd grade only), also called a classification, is an accumulation of objects gathered for study, comparison, or exhibition. They must be organized based on some type of classification scheme grouping objects or events according to their similarities or differences.
