Come one, come all to the BOONE FAMILY PICNIC! It's been a fantastic year and the Boone PTA would like to thank all our families by hosting one last Family Night to celebrate the end of the year. Please join us for a Boone Family Picnic out on the playground Friday May 24 from 5:30-7:30. Bring a picnic dinner or buy Valentina's BBQ. Kona Ice will be on-site as well. It will be lots of fun!!! We looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the Spring Carnival amazingly awesome!!!! This carnival needed more volunteer assistance than ever before, so your presence and help was SO needed and appreciated! The selling out of nearly everything speaks loudly of the attendance. The responses we've received have been awesome, and that our primary goal was attained: this was the BEST CARNIVAL YET! Pictures coming soon.

PTA is in need of a Room Rep. Coordinator for the coming school year.

We have many dedicated parents working to continue the Math Pentathlon Club, Scratch Club, Spelling Bee, and for next year a possible Lego Club. Not to mention, on-going Yearbook construction, Room Reps/Teacher helpers, Garden waterers, and so much more. This really just scratches the surface of what all is happening this year. Thank you parents and teachers for your time and dedication to our kids.

Executive Board meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month. The general PTA meetings will generally be held on the third Thursday of the month.

School Supply Kit Orders have been processed and submitted to SchoolKidz. Receipts for School Kit purchases were sent home with your student on Tuesday. If you ordered a kit but did not receive a receipt, please contact Amy McLemore atamymclemore@austin.rr.com.


Kit pick up will be on tax free weekend in August at Boone.

Norma Mazzei has been a wonderful box top counter and organizer for us but we are sending in so many box tops she is in need of some help!

Many thanks to Rob Vires and CPR Resources for teaching CPR/First Aid training again this year at Boone. And for CPR Resources most generous donation of $150 to the Boone PTA.

The money you helped raise through the Fall Fundraiser, Spirit Nights, and Box Tops, etc. is being used to fund many projects we have in the works:

1. If you haven't seen the gigantic murals Ted Cheavens is painting on both cafeteria walls, please stop in and see how different the cafeteria looks! Ted grew up as an artist. His father is Western artist "Buck Cheavens and Ted made his first bronze sculture at the age of ten! He also has a background in animation. Check out Ted's webpage at tedcheavensart.com where you can see more awesome paintings, murals and sculptures!

2. Our Audio Visual System update in the cafeteria is underway. We have many parents donating their time and expertise to get us the best and most cost-effective technology so that our Music productions, Fitness Fridays, and presentations for the kids can run more smoothly and effectively.

3. Our members voted for a new piece of playground equipment at our first Family Fun Night on the playground. I am working on bids now and plan to have it installed by May at the latest. (hoping to get a balance beam and spinning seat).
